Professional-audience video has different rules from consumer video. Nobody is scrolling for entertainment; they are scrolling for an edge. The clip that works is a person with authority saying one specific, useful thing in under forty seconds, with captions, filmed well enough that the viewer trusts them.
The Kansas City angle
Kansas City's professional-services economy is big and quiet: the law firms and accounting practices downtown and on the Plaza, the engineering firms in Overland Park and Lenexa, the agencies in the Crossroads, the financial advisors and the commercial real estate brokers, the tech companies around the Sprint and Cerner legacies. Their buyers are on LinkedIn and X during the workday and they decide from a phone.
The local angle is credibility. A Kansas City partner filmed in their own conference room, talking about a Kansas City deal, is worth more to a Kansas City buyer than any national thought leader.
Twelve clips from one afternoon with the partners
We would book a half-day in the firm's own office. Two or three partners, each with four questions prepared in advance: one thing clients get wrong, one thing that changed this year, one story about a client with the details removed, one plain explanation of what the firm does. Two cameras, clean audio, captions burned in. Each answer becomes a clip.
Twelve captioned clips for LinkedIn and X, posted one a week for a quarter, plus a ninety-second firm overview for the website.
What to actually make
- Twelve captioned clips — thirty to forty-five seconds each, one idea per clip.
- A 90-second firm overview — for the website, the proposals and the recruiting page.
- Client story pieces — sixty seconds each, anonymized where the engagement requires.
- A quarterly refresh format — the same set-up repeated each quarter so the feed never runs dry.
What it costs in Kansas City
For most of the businesses in this post the right starting point is The Short at $2,000: a half-day shoot cut into one 60-to-90-second film plus vertical cut-downs. Every package is published on our corporate video page, and the video production cost page explains what moves the number up or down. There is no travel fee anywhere in the metro, Overland Park to Lee's Summit to Lawrence.
How the shoot works
It is the same two people on every project, Josh and Brandon. We scope it on a call, write the shot list, show up with lights and a lav mic, and stay out of the way of your customers. A first cut lands in about two weeks with unlimited revisions after that, and you own every frame, including the raw footage on request.
If this is your business, the corporate video page has the packages, the examples and the calendar link. If you are not sure which package fits, this is how we work and why the prices are on the site.
