Legal video has a believability problem

Most law firm video looks the same. A partner standing in front of a bookcase with their arms folded, saying the firm is committed to fighting for you. A gavel. Strings underneath. Everybody has seen it, nobody believes it, and it does not make the phone ring.

The firms that get something out of video do one thing differently. They let somebody talk like a human being. That is the whole trick. A partner explaining in plain words what actually happens after somebody calls. A former client describing the week before they found you. It is not fancy and it is not clever. It just sounds true, which is rarer in legal marketing than it should be.

What we make for law firms

Attorney profiles

One attorney, one camera, cut tight. The point is not your credentials — those are already on your bio page and nobody is watching a video to read a resume. The point is whether the person watching can picture sitting across a table from you. Sixty to ninety seconds. It lives on the bio page, on LinkedIn, and in the email your intake team sends after the first call.

Client stories

A former client explaining what they were dealing with and what changed. Nothing in legal marketing outperforms somebody who is not on your payroll saying you were worth it, and almost no firm in Kansas City does it, because it takes a firm willing to make the ask. If you can get us the client, we can make it worth their afternoon.

Practice-area films

One film per practice area, made for somebody in the middle of the worst month of their life who does not know what a deposition is and is embarrassed to ask. Explain the process. Say what it costs. Say how long it takes. Firms are strangely reluctant to do this, which is exactly why it works when you do.

Recruiting and culture

Associates are expensive to hire and more expensive to lose. A short, honest film about what it is actually like to work at your firm does more for recruiting than a careers page ever has.

What you get

  • A crew of two. The same two, every shoot — no rotating freelancers who have never met your managing partner.
  • Shot at your office, or wherever makes sense. We come to you.
  • Licensed music, color, sound, captions.
  • Cut for where it is going: a long version for the website, verticals for social, and stills pulled from the shoot day.
  • Unlimited revisions. We work until you are happy, not until the hours run out.

What it costs

These are the published prices. They are the same whether you call in January or October.

  • The Short — $2,000. A shoot of your office and your people, cut to music with text on top. No interviews, no script. Good for a firm that wants to look current without committing to a production.
  • Story Film — $4,500. A focused shoot at one location, cut into a single polished film. This is where most attorney profiles and client stories land.
  • Brand Package — $10,000. Multiple scenes across a shoot: a hero film, social cutdowns, cinematic b-roll and brand photography. Enough material to carry a firm through a year.

If your firm is hosting a CLE, a seminar or a client appreciation event, that is covered separately on our event video page.

Firms we have worked with

We have produced work for Edelman & Thompson and for Whitley Law Firm. Both are personal injury practices, which means both had the same problem: a crowded market, competitors buying the same billboards, and no obvious way to sound different from the firm one exit up the highway.

We are happy to walk you through what we made for them and what we would do differently for you. Ask on the call.

How it works

  1. A call. Thirty minutes. You tell us what the firm needs and who needs to be on camera. We tell you which package fits and what it costs. No deck.
  2. A shot list. We send you exactly what we plan to shoot and who we need for how long, so nobody blocks out a whole day for a forty-minute sit-down.
  3. The shoot. Usually one day at your office. We work around court calendars — that is normal for us, not a favor.
  4. The cut. First version back within a couple of weeks. You give notes. We revise until it is right.

Where we shoot

We film across the metro every week. Most of our law firm work happens in Leawood, Prairie Village, Overland Park and downtown Kansas City — the Plaza and the Country Club district especially, where most of the metro's legal offices sit.

There is no travel charge inside the metro.

$2,000–$10,000

How much does a law firm video cost in Kansas City?

Ours start at $2,000 for a short b-roll piece and run to $10,000 for a full brand package. An attorney profile or a client story is usually the $4,500 Story Film. Those are published prices, not starting points for a negotiation.

How long does it take?

One shoot day, then a first cut back within a couple of weeks. Revisions after that are unlimited, so the finish date depends mostly on how fast your firm returns notes.

Do we need a script?

No. Almost everything we shoot for firms is interview-led — we ask questions, you answer them in your own words, and we build the film out of what you actually said. Scripted attorney video is where the stiffness comes from.

Can you film client testimonials given confidentiality rules?

Yes, with the client's written consent, and we will work within whatever your firm's compliance people require. We have done it. Bring us your constraints early and we will shoot around them.

Do you travel to our office?

Yes. We shoot on location across the Kansas City metro at no extra travel charge, including Johnson County and the Northland.

Who actually shows up?

The same two people every time. You will not get a different crew on the second shoot than you had on the first.
