Detail

Event videography at Arvest Bank Theatre at The Midland, priced up front. Keynotes, recap films and attendee testimonials from a two-person crew that knows how the room works, stays out of the way and delivers in days. Packages start at $3,000 and every number is published on this page.

The room

The Midland is the theatre. A 1920s movie palace restored into a concert and event venue in the Power and Light District, with a real stage, a real house lighting rig and a few thousand seats, which is why it hosts concerts, corporate presentations, award shows and the premieres and product launches that want a theatrical reveal.

A theatre is the easiest room to film well and the easiest to film badly. The house lighting is built for the stage, so we take a feed from the house board for audio, clear camera positions with the venue's production staff, and shoot the stage from the house and the wings rather than fighting the rig with our own lights. The lobby and the mezzanine bar take the arrivals, the reception and the interview corner.

How we work The Midland

  • House rules — Camera positions and movement are cleared with the venue's production staff in advance; we make that call.
  • Audio — House board feed for everything on stage; lavs in the lobby for interviews.
  • Lighting — The rig is built for the stage; we shoot into it with fast lenses from cleared positions rather than adding light.
  • Reveals and premieres — A locked stage camera and a roaming body on the audience's reaction, which is the shot that sells a reveal.
  • Power and Light — Receptions in the district after the show are the same booking.

What we film at The Midland

Corporate presentations and award shows

Stage coverage with clean board audio, cut individually for the content library and into a recap.

Premieres and product reveals

The reveal on stage and the reaction in the house, cut for social within days.

Concerts and live events

Aftermovies for promoters and sponsors.

Receptions and after-parties

The lobby, the mezzanine and the district after the show.

How the day runs

Send us the run of show: session times, speaker names, where the stage is. We call the venue and your AV vendor before the day to sort out access, power and a line-level audio feed, because clean stage audio is the difference between a film and a recording. On the day it is the same two people every time, Josh and Brandon, one on the stage and one roaming, with a lit interview corner set up where the venue allows so we can pull speakers and attendees between sessions without anyone missing a session. Vertical cut-downs can go out the same day if you book them; session edits and the recap film land within about two weeks, with unlimited revisions.

What it costs

The Event Recap on the standard menu below is $7,000: a full day of coverage cut into one recap. Conferences and multi-speaker days use the lineup from our event video page instead. Keynote Coverage is $5,000 for a full day on the stage with one camera, up to eight sessions cut individually with clean board audio; each additional camera is $750 and slide sync is $250 per session. The Testimonial Montage is $3,000, with individual cut-downs at $250 each. The Recap Film is $8,500, highlights-style coverage of the stage, the room and the hallways with a two-to-three-day edit and licensed music included. The Full Package is $16,000 and puts two-camera Keynote Coverage, the Recap Film and the Testimonial Montage on one event, $1,250 off booking them separately. The Midland is inside our standard Kansas City metro coverage, so there is no travel line on any of these, and the venue's sales team or your planner can book the same packages at the same prices and add us to a client's event order.

Who we have worked with

We have produced event work for Commodity Classic, Village Capital, NAYDO's Philanthropy Live, IBM Think, the Digital Wrap Conference and MOCSA, alongside the corporate, nonprofit and brand films on the rest of this site. Everything is shot, directed, cut, colored and mixed by our own crew; nothing is subcontracted and nothing in our portfolio came from somebody else's shoot.

Not sure the event lands here? Our Kansas City event videographer page covers the other venues in the area, and the event video page has the full menu.

FAQ

Common Questions

Asked and answered.

Everything you might want to know before we hit record.

Can you film a corporate event at The Midland?

Yes, within the venue's production rules. Camera positions are cleared in advance with their staff and audio comes from the house board.

Can you capture the audience reaction to a reveal?

Yes. A locked camera on the stage and a roaming operator on the house is how we cover a launch, and the reaction shot is usually the one that runs.

Do you charge travel downtown?

No. Downtown Kansas City is home turf and inside our standard metro coverage.

Who owns the footage?

You do. Every deliverable is yours to use anywhere, and we hand over the raw footage on request at no extra charge.
